We have a new Alliance: “Cultivando Comunidades” (Nurturing Communities)
  • Fundación Dibujando un Mañana and Driscoll’s integrate the Alliance “Cultivando Comunidades” (Nurturing Communities) to mitigate the effects caused by the COVID-19 health contingency in rural communities.
  • Collaboration seeks to benefit vulnerable groups in rural areas by donating food packages and medical supplies.

Guadalajara, Jalisco June 11, 2020.- Fundación Dibujando un Mañana, with more than twenty years of experience in linking and building multi-actor networks, joins forces with Driscoll’s in the context of the global health contingency caused by the COVID-19 virus, to contribute to the well-being of rural communities. The initiative “Cultivando Comunidades” (Nurturing Communities) seeks to promote food supply to families in 50 vulnerable communities, as well as to work to protect health professionals in hospitals taking care of COVID-19 patients in rural communities in Jalisco, Michoacán, Puebla and Tlaxcala.

Through this partnership, Driscoll’s will donate $8,500,000 pesos (mp) in food supplies with fruits and vegetables from the Mexican countryside to Food Banks – which in turn will serve to revive the local economy of the country’s rural workers. Likewise, non-perishable products such as rice, flour, preserves, among others, will be delivered seeking to deliver 32,688 nutritional complete packages to approximately 8,172 families in vulnerability or with little resource situations, who need help to face the effects of this heath emergency.

In addition, supplies shall be distributed to protect medical staff, and this means the delivery of 5,000 complete surgical uniforms, 5,000 pairs of nitrile gloves, 5,000 N95 masks, more than 18 thousand protecting masks and 71 security glasses to protect those who are in the first line of action caring for persons affected by this virus in hospitals in Jalisco, Michoacán, Puebla, Tlaxcala. State of Mexico and Mexico City.
